The stone steps are serene, ancient trees reach for the sky, and a gentle breeze sends cherry blossoms fluttering down, so quiet you can only hear your own footsteps. Descend the mountain and walk along the Miyagawa River. Cherry blossoms drift on the water, landing on your shoulders. The most stunning sight is the 300-year-old Gassho-zukuri houses. Their pointed roofs resemble hands clasped in prayer, simple yet solemn, quietly telling tales of bygone eras. Stepping inside, the warm, rustic wooden structure and exquisite mortise and tenon joints create an atmosphere reminiscent of a traditional Dong village, where the familiar charm of traditional Eastern architecture washes over you.
