We were picked up on time at the meeting point, then there was an almost hour-long break at a café in Antigua, which was simply too long… that was a bit annoying. The drive to the volcano was good. If you get carsick on too many curves, you should sit at the front of the bus because it was very bumpy and winding in places. The volcano tour was otherwise very nice. We were there around Halloween, and there were people in costumes on the way up, which was quite funny. The pace was moderate, and there were frequent short breaks so everyone could catch up. Horses can be used for transport to the top. The horses were reasonably well cared for, but it would be nice if more people refrained from using them for the animals' sake. It was sometimes awful to see very heavy people being hauled up on these thin animals! Please walk yourself because it's absolutely doable, and you'll be proud of yourself afterward! Our tour guide was super nice!

I chose to ride a horse. The climb and the terrain were probably too much for me. Great choice because it made the experience much more rewarding for me
