This tour was one of the highlights of our time in the area. The experience starts with a short farm tour, which was surprisingly fascinating. They introduced us to the animals on the property, including turkeys, donkeys, and water buffalo, and walked us through the different plant species and how everything works together within the local ecosystem. It was thoughtful, informative, and set the tone perfectly for what followed. Once out on the water, the wildlife sightings were incredible. We saw monkeys, a sloth, a caiman, tons of birds, iguanas, lizards, and some very cool bugs and spiders. The mangroves themselves are beautiful and peaceful, and being able to move quietly through them by kayak made the whole experience feel immersive. Our guide, Allen, was fantastic. He was incredibly knowledgeable, conversational, and genuinely passionate. He never rushed us and encouraged us to take our time, observe, ask questions, and really soak in the surroundings. You could tell he truly loves what he does. The tour itself is very manageable in terms of difficulty. It was warm, but the shade from the mangrove canopy kept things comfortable, and the pace was relaxed rather than strenuous. We also had a chance to interact briefly with another guide, Memo, while checking out the gift shop. He was hilarious, friendly, and added an extra layer of warmth and personality to the experience. Overall, this tour struck the perfect balance between education, wildlife, and pure enjoyment. If you are interested in nature, ecosystems, and seeing Costa Rica beyond just the surface, this is absolutely worth doing.

Fascinating! Snakes, birds, crocodiles, basilisk lizards. Guides were very knowledgeable and very good at spotting wildlife in the dark.
