Bellver Castle is situated on a hillside in Palma and served as a Gothic summer palace for the Kings of Mallorca. True to its name, which means 'castle of beautiful views,' the castle allows you to overlook the entire city of Palma and the Bay of Palma. However, this 14th-century castle features a circular design that contrasts with its overall Gothic style, a style that is quite rare in Spain. Interestingly, the castle was also used as a prison before the 20th century.Comarca de Palma · 2.5 km from Palma de Mallorca

LA ALMUDAINA   Royal Palace of La Almudaina Residencia oficial de los reyes de España en Palma de Mallorca   The royal castle of La Almudaina is situated in the part of the city of Mallorca where there have been settlements since Roman times and which has been the seat of power on the island possibly since then. Remains of the Arab citadel, which was mentioned in 12th and 13th centuries references, can still be found in the layout of the present castle. The castle was built in the early 14th century between 1305 and 1314 for James II and flourished as the seat of the court of the kings of Mallorca in the first half of that century. The seat of the High Court since Philip II, residence of the Viceroy and the Captain General and administrative centre of the Royal Heritage on the island, the Almudaina is currently the official residence of His Majesty the King during his visits to Mallorca.   THE TREASURES OF THE ALMUDAINA PALACE   COURTYARD OF HONOUR OR COURTYARD OF ARMS This is the current venue for official receptions of the Royal Family and a white marble lion is preserved as a reminder of its Muslim past.   ARABIC BATHS These were for the private use of the Muslim Walis who lived in the old Alcazar. These baths comprised a cold room, a warm room and a hot room.   GOTIC HALL OR MAIN HALL This is a large, solemn-looking hall; the most important in the Almudaina Palace. It was built in the reign of James II and since then it has been used to celebrate major festivities and to receive ambassadors. It was reformed during the time of Philip II.Palma de Mallorca · 400m from downtown

Cala Major

Cala Major

4.1
Cala Major is a beach that seamlessly blends urban living with a seaside escape. With its soft, fine golden sand and crystal-clear blue waters, it is backed by steep cliffs and palm trees, creating a sense of being close to the city while feeling worlds away from the hustle and bustle. The adjacent walking path and coastal promenade connect lush palm groves with coastal architecture, lined with restaurants, cafes, and bars. By day, you can sunbathe, go diving, or enjoy a meal at a seaside restaurant. By evening, take a stroll in the sea breeze and watch the skyline shift from azure to orange. Beyond its own appeal, the nearby Marivent Palace was once the summer residence of the Spanish royal family, and world-renowned painter Joan Miró lived and worked here, imbuing the area with both the relaxed vibe of a sunny coast and a depth of art and history.Comarca de Palma · 4 km from Palma de Mallorca

The Arab Baths in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, is a historic architectural monument that showcases the cultural influence of the Moors on the island of Mallorca. One of the few remaining Moorish buildings in Palma, the baths were built between the 10th and 12th centuries and embody the unique style and craftsmanship of Islamic architecture. The architectural style of the baths is a blend of Byzantine and Islamic features, and only two main rooms remain: a bathroom and a dressing room. Its iconic dome features five skylights for natural light, while the 12 stone columns supporting the structure were taken from earlier Romanesque buildings, showing the layers of history. In 1931, the building was listed as a Spanish cultural heritage and has become one of Palma's important historical landmarks. The Arab Baths is not only an architectural wonder, but also a cultural heritage that reflects the rich history and multicultural blend of Mallorca. It offers visitors an opportunity to explore the art of Islamic architecture and understand the Moorish lifestyle, and is a historical attraction not to be missed in Palma de Mallorca.Palma de Mallorca · 629m from downtown

[Scenery] After visiting the Banys Arabs Baths, we drove back to the city and happened to catch the Olive Garden Market. Sometimes there is also a flea market, which is a very interesting place to shop. [Fun] There are many snacks, and there are a hundred ways to cook olives... They look so sour, haha

The town of Soller is located in the northwest of Mallorca. It is a beautiful town surrounded by citrus groves in a canyon basin. Every street and every corner exudes the exotic style of the Iberian Peninsula. Staying here for a night is a good choice.
