Reviews: Hokkaido Furano & Biei 1-Day Tour | Shirogane Blue Pond, Farm Tomita & Shikisai no Oka | Departing from Sapporo

I booked with half worry and half anticipation, but the guide, "Lisa," was the very definition of kindness, fun, and cheerful. If I take another bus tour, I would definitely want to meet her again. She explained everything so well, and she kept the tour from getting boring by adding explanations and wit whenever there was a moment that could have been dull. It’s the best value for money—a bus tour I want to keep all to myself! 👍🏻
Reviews: 1-day tour to panoramic flower gardens shikisai-no-oka + shirogane blue pond (aoiike) + shirahige waterfall + farm tomita for 9 people / bus tour

This itinerary is too long to explore on your own, so a day trip is a good option. One and a half hours each for Shikisai-no-oka and Furano is generally enough; half an hour for the Blue Pond and 20 minutes for Shirahige Falls felt rushed – basically just enough time to climb up, take a few photos, and the time was up. We took a minibus with the driver, which had 10 seats. The bus was a bit old but quite clean. However, the legroom was limited, making it difficult to stretch out, and the two-and-a-half-hour journey was a bit tiring! The driver was a steady driver and a nice guy; he was from Northeast China.

You absolutely must go to Furano in the summer! On the third day of the Dragon Boat Festival, I booked a day trip to Biei and Furano. I was lucky to run into our guide, Xiao Jia, again. I asked him a lot of questions about traveling in Hokkaido, and he told me about the best seasons to visit, how to enjoy the attractions, and what delicious food to eat. The bus was very comfortable, but I regretted that time flew by so quickly. The lavender fields were so beautiful; I'll definitely come back again! This day tour was very suitable and offered great value. I hope to come back in winter!

The tour was conducted in English by a Chinese guide based in Sapporo. We also mistakenly booked an English guide, and while communication wasn't difficult enough, the explanations of the tour locations seemed a bit lacking. However, the guide was cheerful, drove safely, and was kind.

Rita was incredibly friendly to the guests, and her explanations using gestures were cool and entertaining. She was very helpful to us and assisted with our questions about Hokkaido. The sightseeing could have taken longer, so we were a bit rushed and couldn't see everything. I completely understand that it would have been difficult for the driver to navigate those roads later in the day. Overall, I highly recommend it.
