My friends and I booked a private tour with Active Travel, had the most wonderful experience with Marian, our guide. He was absolutely accommodating in every way and chose two locations that were perfect for us. The scenery was breathtaking, and Marian was so knowledgeable, and shared so many interesting stories and historical facts with us. After our hike we finished up having lunch in a guest house which was arranged by Marian, and everything was perfect. Marian spoke with so much love and passion for the Carpathian’s and Romania, and is an advocate for ecotourism which we found inspiring. We recommend Active Travel and will def be back to Romania to book with them again.

Fantastic! Although I've visited many castles, this one is decorated like a palace, magnificent and breathtaking. It's absolutely the most luxurious castle, on par with Neuschwanstein Castle. The local travel agency has its own tour bus, and the tour guide was incredibly professional, explaining everything from beginning to end. They were also very responsible towards each tourist. A big thumbs up! Overall, it was superb, with excellent service, great value for money, and a fantastic experience.

It was a pleasure to visit Bran Castle, Peles Castle, and the Bear Sanctuary accompanied by the magnificent tour guide Vlad. Besides being an excellent guide, he's also very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive to your needs. He picked us up just steps from our accommodation and accompanied us on all three stages without ever leaving us alone, explaining everything we observed in detail along the way. I highly recommend having an experience with him... He's also an excellent ski instructor... ;)

We had a fantastic trip with Alex our guide who was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Clear instructions about where to meet. Despite a minor glitch with transport at the beginning of our trip, Alex made the bear watching experience incredibly interesting, sharing facts and stories about the bears. There was a group of 10 of us and we spent a couple of hours in the hide and saw 2 bears - an adult make and a young male. Alex had also brought binoculars with him so we could observe the bears more closely. An awesome trip and one we would 100% recommend. Thanks so much Active Travel and Alex.

It was wonderful! Shortly after booking, a guide contacted me, and my anticipation grew. When the day arrived, everything went smoothly. From the drive through the breathtaking landscape to the observation point... the excitement just kept building. I received a wealth of valuable information about the area and its history. Traian, the guide, was very dedicated. I felt completely at ease! We transferred vehicles, and a ranger took us to the observation point. What a spectacle! Simply magnificent! Bears! Wonderful animals! I had a fantastic time, and... my guide, Traian, played a huge part in that. Thank you so much! A trip I will never forget!

This was my absolute highlight of a trip to Romania. Booked on the day via WhatsApp with the lovely Irina (Neotours). Excellent value. Was driven to the forest (45 mins) and opportunity to use the toilet before going into the forest. Our guide was Alex and he was incredibly interesting and engaging. He shared lots of interesting facts about the bears. The hide was comfortable, if basic, and we saw the first bear within 15 mins. Saw 7 in total and had over 2 hours enjoying their activity. Felt authentic and natural. Excellent value, highly recommended, well worth booking.
