Xiamen to Quanzhou Private 1-Day Tour Kaiyuan temple Xi Street
In the morning, we'll drive for approximately 1.5 hours directly to Kaiyuan Temple in Quanzhou. This millennium-old monastery is the largest Buddhist temple in Fujian Province, with the majestic East and West Pagodas standing tall. The red walls, green tiles, and ancient banyan trees create a harmonious and picturesque scene. Strolling through the temple, you can feel its tranquility and solemnity. Afterward, a 5-minute walk will take you to West Street, the best-preserved ancient street district in Quanzhou. Here, Minnan architectural elements such as brick carvings and vermilion-glazed brick walls can be seen everywhere. The aroma of local specialties like Hou Apo's glutinous rice dumplings and Laoji's noodles in soup fills the air. You're free to explore the unique blend of bustling street life and ancient charm (meals and snacks are at your own expense).
In the afternoon, we'll head to Quanfu Impression Sandaoxing Museum. Centered around Minnan culture, the museum vividly presents Quanzhou's "Maritime Silk Road" history and folk customs through displays of intangible cultural heritage techniques and interactive experiences, allowing you to immersively feel the profound cultural heritage of this city.
Finally, we'll drive for 20 minutes to reach Quanzhou Southern Shaolin Temple. Built against the mountains, this Tang Dynasty monastery is magnificent. You can watch martial arts performances by monks, experiencing the perfect fusion of martial arts and Zen, or climb to the top to overlook the cityscape of Quanzhou and take in the panoramic views.
After the tour, our driver will safely return you to your hotel in downtown Xiamen.
