The best time to leave is in the morning. At around 8 am, a quick drive to the starting point marks the beginning of a sustainable continuation of this Luang Prabang exploration. Together with your English-speaking guide, saddling properly up for comfort before the morning ride signals the start of a leisurely ride through Luang Prabang. The tour heads first to the Wat Visoun. Dating back to the early sixteenth century, Wat Visoun is Luang Prabang's oldest temples which therefore demonstrate some of the earliest Luang Prabang temple architecture.

Our next stop on our bike ride is a temple of stature. Adorned in decoration and gold leaf, Wat Mai Suwannaphumaham is undoubtedly one of Luang Prabang most lavishly decorated temples, which is situated next to the Royal Palace and was used by Lao royalty. Since Wat Mai was one of the few temples in Luang Prabang to survive Chinese invaders in 1887, it became home for Laos' most highly respected Phra Bang Buddha image until it was moved to the Royal Palace Museum.

Reaching our next stop, the Royal Palace Museum is done on foot while we leave our bikes securely locked up before moving on. Facing sacred Mount Phousi and on the banks of the Mekong River, the museum houses the most important treasures of Laos' recent past. It is home to Laos' most sacred Buddha image, the Phra Bang, which is kept fittingly in an ornamented shrine.

End your morning at Wat Xieng Thong. Sitting on Luang Prabang's peninsula is one of the city's most palatial decorated temples. The decoration is spread across its buildings leaving visitors with ample time to admire its interior and exterior. The cycling morning comes to an end with following in the spoked wheels of your guide back to the starting point and continues back to your accommodation in Luang Prabang.

How to use

- Please contact Asian Trails at least 72 hours before your activity date to confirm your reservation and arrange transportation. Changes within 24 hours may be on request.

- Pick-up times for excursions will be reconfirmed one day prior to commencement of your booked excursion. As an indication, the pick-up time from your accommodation is scheduled 30-60 minutes prior to the confirmed starting time.

- Please be ready and waiting in your hotel lobby 15 minute prior to your scheduled pick up time.

- Upon pickup, please present your confirmation/voucher or photo ID in exchange for your activity.

- In the event of no-show or change of accommodation without prior consent and confirmation from us within 24 hours may result in the applicable cancellation charges as outlined in the terms and conditions.

Change & cancellation policies

If a cancellation request is submitted before 00:00, 2 day(s) prior to the date of use, no cancellation fee will be charged.

If a cancellation request is submitted after 00:00 2 day(s) before the date of use, a fee of 100% will be charged.

If a discount is applied, the cancellation fee will be calculated based on the original price before the discount and will not exceed the amount paid.

Partial refund is not available.

To change the date or time, please cancel your booking and book again.

This tour is operated on full private basis with English-speaking guide.
Return transfers for this excursion apply only / are inclusive for customers staying in and inside Luang Prabang. Transfers outside these areas, including any accommodation outside this area such as Kuang Si, along the Ou and Nam Khan River, Nong Kiau and Luang Prabang International Airport are excluded. Supplements apply for customers who want to join this excursion outside one of these regions.

Customers booking this this leisurely bicycle tour may expect some light hills, unequal terrain and/or some bike carrying along the way.
A minimal degree of fitness may be needed to enjoy this excursion to the fullest.
This bicycle tour is a recreational one and covers approximately 15 kilometres of cycling with various stops made en route;
It is recommendable to provide your height for proper bike size at time of the booking.
To respect local customs and respecting the religious sites and temples on this tour, it is customary for guests to take off their shoes before allowed entrance. Your guide will inform you in advance for which of these sites this is applicable.
We always will make efforts to confirm the exact pick-up time upon reservation. For any operational issues in which are not able to confirm the exact pick-up time in advance, we reserve the right to inform you the day before the departure of the tour.
Please note pickup and drop-off services may not be confirmed for customers staying at private residences, apartment complexes, or other non-registered tourism accommodations. Customers may be asked to meet at a nearby hotel for pick-up and drop off.
