Reviews: Cairns Green Island Great Barrier Reef Big Cat half-day tour snorkeling/glass bottom boat
Guest User2026-10-27
I signed my father up for the trip. He's 63 and traveling alone, and he was completely satisfied with the itinerary. He had a perfect snorkeling experience, truly felt the beauty of Green Island, and the crew took excellent care of him, even checking on his physical condition before the snorkeling session.★

You can choose between a glass-bottom boat tour or snorkeling. I chose the glass-bottom boat tour, and it was great! We saw sea turtles, rays, and lots of fish! My wife usually gets seasick easily, but the water was shallow and the waves were calm, so she didn't get seasick at all on the glass-bottom boat! I think some people might get seasick on the high-speed boat to Green Island. However, if you don't snorkel, there isn't much to do on Green Island, so I think we could have shortened our stay a bit! (It was entirely my own fault for not doing enough research.)★

Reviews: Cairns Big Cat/Green Island Great Barrier Reef Cruise [Short Trip/Snorkeling/Glass Bottom Boat]
Guest User2026-09-12
Very convenient for elderly people or young kids that can't snorkel or head into the waters to view the Great Barrier Reef. Bring basic swim gears at least even if you're not going for a swim. Worth going for a walk in the waters or a light dip. If you're not keen on buffet on a boat or the restaurant choices, bring your own lunch, or just your own snack to enjoy on the island. Go for a walk on the other end of the island. Different trails to suit different stamina. If elderly or young kids is going, it may be much comfortable to book the return boat /cruise to and from Green Island, the lunch buffet /the lunch package with Emerald Restaurant / food voucher with 1 of the eateries, book the glass bottom boat ride in lieu of the snorkeling, and the semi submarine too.★

Didn’t think we’d get to see as much as we did given the fact we were snorkling just off the beach but OMG 4 sting rays, 3 turtles, 2 sharks, 1 moray eel and hundreds of fish, sea cucumbers and star fish a vibrant royal blue. All this made possible by the lovely crew. Also lunch was pretty good too :)
