Although I don't speak Chinese, the tour was very straightforward for me (pick-up, payment for extras, etc.). The kung fu show was the absolute highlight. It's a must-see. The tour guide was friendly, made sure no one got lost, and scheduled plenty of bathroom breaks. Excellent!★

This was a very insightful experience with lots of knowledge and stories about the grottoes and the Shaolin Temple, in an easy digestible way. We traveled over the Lunar New Year, so it was very busy, but our brilliant and friendly guide Bob made sure that we were able to catch the Kung fu show at the Shaolin Temple, which was amazing to see. A great day out to see iconic Chinese attractions.★

DO: Get tickets for the Camel Bell show. It's the best live show I've seen in China so far.
DON'T: Get tickets for the optional "An Army Reborn" show. Not worth the money, trust me.
The tour guide, Star, was very informative and communicated clearly. Tour was well organized, never rushed or boring. By far one of the best day tours you can do if you want to learn the history of these two locations. Both locations are mostly open-air, so make sure to dress for the weather and prepare for a reasonable amount of walking.★
