Reviews: Mekong Delta One-day Tour in Ho Chi Minh City, Boats tour to My Tho - Vinh Trang Pagoda - Thoi Son Island [ English-Guide | No Shopping | Hotel Pick-up - Lunch included]
Guest User2025-11-28
I booked a VIP tour this time, and the itinerary was very packed, with five or six boat trips in total, making it a fairly in-depth tour. The Mekong River didn't look very clear; the water was quite yellow and covered with water hyacinths, but there was no unpleasant odor. The island had many plants (various fruits) and animals (pythons, crocodiles, catfish, etc.), and the guide led the tour, providing very enthusiastic explanations. At the narrow section of the river where boats were manually rowed, the guide mentioned that a tip was expected for the rowers. Before the tour ended, the guide suggested that if we were satisfied with the trip, we could also tip him; I felt I had to give him something, otherwise I'd feel awkward.

The 1 day tour to the Mekong Delta and vist to the Vinh Trang Pagoda was very enjoyable. Our tour guide Leo was courteous, knowledgeable and friendly. He explained the days itinerary in English and in Chinese to our Chinese companion and was very helpful with any of our questions. The two boat trips through Coconut grove and the visit to the Vinh Trang Pagoda was beautiful, and tranquil. I really enjoyed the full day trip. I would recommend this trip and also the tour company ( V N Lotus Travel in Saigon.

Reviews: Ho Chi Minh City to Mui Ne Day Tour: Red Sand Dunes + White Sand Dunes + Fairy Stream, Mui Ne with Optional Chinese/English Guide
Guest User2026-02-26
Starting from Ho Chi Minh City, it's a bit of a distance, and you'll stop at a highway rest stop for restrooms. Fairy Stream is cleaner than I expected, mainly because walking on the fine sand and enjoying the cool flowing water is very comfortable. However, be careful when walking barefoot as there are sharp small stones and potholes. Pay attention while walking, or wear wet flip-flops. After about 10 minutes, you can see sand dunes and stone pillars, which are great for taking photos. The seafood lunch was excellent, with fresh and sweet shrimp. When you reach the White Sand Dunes, you'll need to pay about 145k VND per person to ride in a 6-seater pickup truck, or an off-road vehicle for an even higher price. I recommend paying the extra fee to get to the White Sand Dunes, as they are great for taking photos. The Red Sand Dunes are perfect for taking photos with the sunset. You need to go a little further in to avoid crowds and take better pictures, but you won't have much time to stop there. Overall, the trip was great.
Reviews: Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta Full-Day Tour with Luxury Limousine Options

The tour was a 10-person English-speaking group booked on Ctrip. The actual group consisted of 9 people: 2 American women, a Korean-American couple, a woman from Shanghai, and our family of four. The woman from Shanghai originally booked a 22-person group but was reassigned to our 10-person group after the group couldn't be formed. Overall, the trip was good, but it didn't quite meet my expectations. Our guide, Doc, was enthusiastic and sincere, but his spoken English needs improvement. The vehicle was a Ford D-Car, and the equipment matched the advertising. Dissatisfaction included extra charges and excessive product recommendations, although not mandatory. The local tour operator, SST, demanded an extra 250,000 VND in holiday cash tips per person, which was unreasonable and exceeded the terms of our Ctrip booking. There were a total of 8 promotional activities throughout the trip, including local art factories, local honey, singer tips, boatman tips, and some food recommendations. The main attractions are the Vietnam War tunnel warfare battlefield tour and the final kilometer-long tropical rainforest boat ride, which is quite fun. There was a paid shooting game in the middle; we bought two sets of 20 bullets. My son and I planned to each shoot a set, but minors are prohibited, so my dad finished the whole thing. The bullet cost a total of 1.35 million VND, which is close to 70,000 VND per bullet – definitely expensive. Other soft-sell tactics were barely acceptable, but I hope they can be reduced; there were a total of 9 such attempts. Hard tips were unacceptable as it was difficult to negotiate on-site, and I was forced to accept them. Overall, I'm 80-85% satisfied. I hope the guides and boatmen won't keep asking for tips in the future, and I also hope that all sales pitches will be eliminated, especially since it's advertised as a "pure tour."

Driver - Yang Ge: Excellent driving skills. I slept comfortably in the car, and he arrived at each destination quickly and safely at appropriate speeds. Guide - Chau Van: We got along well; he was friendly and, surprisingly, spoke Cantonese. He personally handled every attraction and destination meticulously, ensuring we had no worries and could fully enjoy and learn about each place. The torchlight experience and delicious lunch were excellent, making for a pleasant trip for myself and my four friends. Overall, I give it 5 stars. I would definitely choose it again for the same trip. If you want to enjoy your trip, Trip.com product ID: 71887543 is the best choice and highly recommended.
