Sunny organised a lovely tour for us. Lillian the guide we had for the day was brilliant. She spoke clear English and was very knowledgeable of the sights we visited. She was waiting for us in the foyer way before our meeting time and took us back to the hotel at the end of the day where she went out of her way to find a good local restaurant for us. Lillian’s knowledge of the sights was an advantage as we did not really know much of the history. She managed to get us into the mausoleum which was fully booked. I definitely would recommend using Sunny and Lillian for a Nanjing tour.

Reviews: Nanjing Jinling Menghua Imperial Banquet Experience (Must-visit palace banquet restaurant in Nanjing + Dual feast for vision and taste + Traditional Chinese opera and guzheng performances + Immersive ancient emperor experience)

The ambiance is like a palace, the food is delicious (eight dishes in total), and the performances are spectacular, including court dances, magic shows, court music, and interactive entertainment. It's a memorable palace banquet.

Jinling Poetry Banquet x Immersive Experience x Dinner + Performance 🍽️Food First and foremost, you'll definitely feel full: I personally don't eat much, probably the average Southerner's appetite. By comparison, a set meal at a Macau-style tea restaurant always leaves me feeling full (a little stuffed). So, those with larger appetites might not feel quite full. However, every dish is meticulously prepared, from the name and portion size to the presentation and flavor—it's all layered and I'd give it 100 points (except for the noodles being a bit too soft). My favorite was the mango pomelo sago dessert. P.S. My friend said I have no sense of taste 🤣🤣🤣 💁🏻‍♀️Service For a more immersive experience, consider paying 200 RMB for the styling and makeup. From the moment you enter, their service is incredibly attentive, addressing each gentleman and lady politely, introducing suitable clothing, and providing personalized styling and makeup. For example, my sister and I are more cute, while my mother is more sophisticated. I don't do makeup, but my sister said their technique was quite skillful; they clearly understood the lighting and shadows needed for the shoot, and their movements were quick, precise, and aesthetically pleasing. Because my natural features are so good, I couldn't really tell if makeup looked good or not 😆 While eating, they would introduce the dishes to you. There was plenty of time to eat; it didn't feel rushed at all. If your friends can't finish their food, it's best to ask them if they want it before the set is cleared away, otherwise the waiter will take it away. 🤹🏻Regarding the performance From an immersive perspective, the immersion was excellent. From the props at the entrance to the costumes of each waiter, everything was meticulously crafted. Most importantly, each waitress was masked, making you feel that they were all beautiful. The entire performance was themed around Chinese poetry, and my favorite part was the ceramics segment. I never imagined it could be presented in this way; it's exactly the kind of storytelling theater performance I love. I think using "2049" as a metaphor is very fitting, because it clearly has a director who considers the overall viewing experience, rather than just having random dancers perform. The themes prioritize love, such as the love stories of Yang Guifei and the Weaver Girl. However, the performance lacks coherence; there's no complete story. It's more like watching a performance based on Chinese poetry and songs. The performers are all professional, and the dance is beautiful. My sister is a dancer, and she said the female dancers' backbends were particularly beautiful. It's definitely not some random street performance. Personally, I think if it focused more on events that occurred in Nanjing, or emphasized the theme of goodwill, the performance might have been even better. For example, the male and female leads could be the same person throughout the entire performance, telling their love stories across different eras. Photo Opportunities Finally, considering the culture of taking photos, they set up many photo spots, and you can even take photos with the performers on stage after the show. If you like taking great photos, this is definitely a good option. Booking: https://hk.trip.com/things-to-do/detail/98462881?locale=zh-HK&curr=MOP #Nanjing #PoetryFeast #ImmersiveRoyalFeast #Jinling
