In the morning, our enthusiastic driver will pick you up from your hotel in Belgrade to start your wonderful day.
We drove for 2 hours to Subotica, a city with a long history and rich cultural heritage, featuring unique Hungarian-style Art Nouveau architecture. Along the way, we enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Vojvodina in northern Serbia.
We will first visit Subotica City Hall, this towering building is one of the city's landmarks. The exterior walls and roof feature intricate and delicate decorations, with Hungarian Zsolnay ceramic ornaments and wrought iron floral elements showcasing utmost opulence. Climbing the city hall tower also offers a panoramic view of Subotica's cityscape.
We headed to the Subotica Synagogue, built in 1902 by renowned Budapest architects Deže Jakab and Marcell Komor. This synagogue stands out in Europe for incorporating Hungarian Art Nouveau elements. Its interior is designed in a tent-like style, with bright and harmonious colors that evoke a sense of joy.
We'll visit the Raichl Palace to admire Raichl's design masterpiece, a magnificent palace showcasing the pinnacle of Art Nouveau. The entrance is adorned with heart-shaped iron gates, and the wall facades feature exquisite paintings. At noon, enjoy a delicious Serbian-Chinese lunch at the nearby Boss Restaurant.
Before returning to Belgrade in the afternoon, we will visit Lake Palić, a natural lake located about 7 km from Subotica and one of Serbia's largest natural lakes. With its shallow waters and distinctive L-shape stretching 17 km, it's a favorite weekend getaway for locals. Under the blue sky and white clouds, the vast lake shimmers with gentle waves, while trees along the shore sway in the breeze, creating a beautiful, tranquil, and relaxing scene.
Back in Belgrade, we came to Zemun, a town with a long history and rich cultural heritage. We will visit Gardoš Tower, a 25-meter-high stone tower built in the 15th century. It was once part of Zemun Fortress and is now a museum showcasing the history and culture of Zemun. Enjoy afternoon tea at a cafe on Zemun's old street, soaking in the town's tranquility and leisure. Watch the sunset by the Danube River, feed the swans, and enjoy a wonderful time.
We will take you back to your hotel in Belgrade, concluding this day's journey. Throughout the day, you'll have the opportunity to experience Serbia's history and culture, admire the natural scenery, savor local cuisine, and enjoy leisurely moments. We believe this will be an unforgettable travel experience.
