Sledging is a fun snow activity for young and old. There are various runs in Grindelwald that are suitable for this. The Eiger Run fascinates with its steep slopes and fascinating views.
Board the Eiger Express in Grindelwald and let it take you through the lofty heights to the Eiger Glacier. Once at the top, the fun descent begins.
The route consists of four sections. As far as Kleine Scheidegg, you can admire the fantastic view of the Bernese Pre-Alps. Here the route is very winding and steep. You then ride to Alpiglen with the north face of the Eiger behind you. The steepest part of the route awaits you here with a gradient of 36°. And finally, in good snow conditions, you can enjoy a leisurely ride to Grindelwald.
Practical information:
- This activity is not a guided tour!
- The descent to Kleine Scheidegg takes about 45 minutes, to Alpiglen another 30 minutes. You should allow a total of 1:45 to 2:00 hours for the descent.
- In general, children are also allowed to sledge down the Eiger Run (sledge runs 64 and 68) if they are experienced sledgers.
On selected days, you can ride the Eiger Run at night. Night sledging is an exciting experience that you won't forget in a hurry. All you need to enjoy the descent is a "Jungfrau Eiger Run evening ticket". Afterwards, you can warm up again with a hot punch in one of the mountain huts.
