How to use
1. Once your ticket has been issued, you will receive a confirmation email from Trip.com containing your booking name and pass number (usually a 6-digit alphanumeric combination).

2. Please activate your pass in the Rail Planner app before your first train ride by selecting the date of your first journey. Note that the pass must be activated before boarding.

3. When boarding, please show the QR code in the Rail Planner App to the train staff for inspection. For routes that require seat reservations, please also present your reservation confirmation.

Holders of a first-class pass can travel in second-class carriages, with no fare difference refunded.

5. Please carry your passport with you, as the conductor may check it.

6. Most train stations in Europe do not require security checks or ticket inspections. It is recommended to arrive at the station half an hour in advance to confirm your departure time slot. Platform information for European trains is usually displayed on the station's large screens 10 minutes before departure. Please check the app and station information promptly.

7. In case of train delays or cancellations due to force majeure, promptly check the app for alternative departure schedules to the same destination, or seek assistance from station staff.

8. We recommend downloading the train company's app and using it together with Google for easy and timely access to train information.

For other details regarding the expiration date, how to activate/cancel the Eurail Pass, how to confirm if seat reservations are required, how to reserve seats, and specific usage instructions, please refer to the product details page.

Child-related regulations

  • Children aged 4 to 11 can travel for free with a child pass.
  • Each adult passenger can bring up to 2 children for free. For example, when 2 adults travel together, they can bring a total of 4 children at no additional cost. If an adult needs to bring more than 2 children, a youth pass must be purchased separately for the third child and beyond.
  • Passengers holding senior passes or youth passes cannot bring children for free travel. Children must purchase child passes.
  • Children must be accompanied by at least one passenger holding an adult pass throughout the entire journey. The accompanying person must be over 18 years old, but does not need to be a family member of the child.
  • Children aged 3 or under can ride for free without purchasing a pass. Children aged 3 or under cannot occupy seats, and during peak hours, accompanying adults must hold the child on their lap. If a child aged 3 or under requires a separate seat, a child pass must be purchased. Agents should issue free child passes according to the ratio of adult passengers to accompanying free children.
  • A child pass must match the accompanying adult pass in terms of pass type, carriage class, travel duration, and expiration date. The country of residence for both the child and adult must also be the same. If the actual countries of residence differ, the child's pass should reflect the country of residence listed on the adult's pass.
