Reviews: Nagoya: Japanese Alps "Kamikochi" One-Day Round-trip Tour

Even though it was just a transport, our guide explained quite a bit about the area; traveling privately would certainly have been much more difficult, especially with the long shuttle waiting times. A fantastic area for hiking and photography.
Reviews: Magome-juku, Tsumago-juku & Ena-kyo 1d Bus Tour from Nagoya

Superbly organized tour :) All times were well planned and there were plenty of food options. At Magome's, you could choose whether to have lunch with the tour – you had to pay for that yourself, but that was mentioned in the description. Very nice stops and we were back in Nagoya on time.
Reviews: Nagoya, Japan: Hida Takayama and Shirakawa-go Day Tour | 9-person Small Group Optional
Guest User2026-02-21
I made a reservation around 8 PM the night before departure, and it was confirmed quickly. Our guide, Lin Ho, provided thorough and detailed explanations (consecutive explanations in four languages: Japanese, Korean, English, and Chinese, and the Korean explanations were particularly fluent and thorough). We left at 9 AM, and due to road conditions, we went to Shirakawa-go first before heading to Takayama. We stayed in Shirakawa-go for about an hour and a half (please note that this tour does not include the observatory; a 30-minute round trip walk from Shirakawa-go is sufficient). We stayed in Takayama for about two hours, and arrived at Nagoya Station around 7:10 PM. I didn't have high expectations, but it was a great way to experience the atmosphere of a mountain village and a small inland town. Although I made the reservation on short notice, I think it was a satisfying and fulfilling trip.
Reviews: [Depart from Nagoya] Explore the Gassho Village of Shirakawa-go · Alpine Tour · Optional 9-person Small Group
Guest User2026-03-03
This tour allows direct access to the observation deck of the Gassho-zukuri village, eliminating the need for walking. It arrives at the observation deck around 10 AM, avoiding peak tourist hours, and then arrives at the village parking lot at 11:20 AM for a 1.5-hour stop before departing. The downside is that the tour arrives at Takayama Old Town at 2 PM, by which time the morning market and most shops are closed, limiting choices. However, there are rest stops on both the way there and back, so there's no need to worry about needing to urinate. Our guide, Mr. Liu, was very attentive and responsible, managing everything for the tourists and recommending souvenirs and food. The time allotted was also very reasonable and sufficient.
Reviews: 1-day tour to Inuyama Castle, Inari Shrine, Ena Gorge, Magome, and Tsumago-juku | Departing from Nagoya

I think this is a place worth visiting. The snack shops near Ena Gorge have incredibly delicious strawberries, only 1000 yen a bag. The strawberry flavor is exceptionally sweet; in Nagoya, a bag of strawberries would cost at least 1500 yen. The roasted sweet potatoes are also delicious. Tsumarajuku is truly beautiful, perfect for taking photos.
