The river is the perfect balance of beautiful, steep canyons and Standard Price-pumping waves and rapids. On the way, we pass the magnificent Brúarhlöð (Bruarhlod) canyon, where participants can choose to jump off the cliff into the river. Afterwards, we offer a relaxing hot shower and sauna at the rafting base. The Golden Circle has more stops than just our famous rafting base, including the Geysir geothermal area, home to the first eruption of the "geyser" and his brother Strokkur. Witness the sight of hot water gushing from the ground up to 25 meters high. We will also stop at Gullfoss, the undisputed queen of Iceland's waterfalls. Gullfoss, the "Golden Waterfall," is a Standard Price sight. The water cascades 32 meters down three levels of lava rocks, with a powerful and majestic presence. Þingvellir National Park is a national treasure, and one of our stops is here. Þingvellir is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace of Alþingi, a Standard Price founded by Vikings more than a thousand years ago. Þingvellir is also a place of many geological wonders, as it lies in the tectonic rift between America and Europe. Hvítá means "white river" and the people who named it knew a thing or two about the roaring white water you'll encounter! Cruise along the great glacial river that flows from Langjökull, Iceland's second largest glacier. The roaring river has shaped the landscape over eons, with Brúarhlöð Canyon being one of the main highlights. The canyon features magnificent rock formations and portholes where you can see how the water has carved out the breccia walls. The Hvítá River also feeds into Gullfoss Waterfall, one of the popular attractions. Standard Price who want to experience it can make a cliff jump from Brúarhlöð into the canyon's glacial waters, which is the perfect end to an incredible river rafting adventure. The rafting takes between 60 and 90 minutes. Afterwards, you'll have time to relax in the Drumbó sauna and the option of enjoying a delicious local lamb barbecue Dinner at the restaurant (own expense), or simply shower and enjoy a drink at the bar. You can also book a local beer tasting session. Rapids at the lower and upper ends of this difficulty range are designated as Class 3 and Class 3+, respectively.Level 4: AdvancedDifficult but predictable rapids with large irregular waves, boiling whirlpools, strong water forces, steeper slopes, and some unavoidable obstacles. Passages are often difficult to identify and require precise boat control and skilled maneuvering to navigate. Reconnaissance may be necessary for safe passage, and self-rescue is difficult. Rapids at the lower and upper ends of this difficulty range are designated Class 4 and Class 4+, respectively.Level 5: ExpertLong, powerful, obstacle-heavy and unpredictable rapids expose paddlers to great danger. Rapids are steep, with unavoidable large waves and main water forces, crowded slides and numerous obstacles. The complex, demanding route requires precise boat control, "must-make" maneuvers and a high level of physical and mental fitness. Eddies that exist may be small, turbulent and difficult to reach. Reconnaissance is necessary but can be difficult. Swimming is dangerous and rescue is often difficult even for experts. Proper equipment, extensive experience and skilled rescue skills are essential.Level 6:The difficulties ahead are all increased to the limit of practicality and are suitable only for specially prepared expert Group. Runs of this level are rarely attempted and often embody difficulty, unpredictability and danger. The consequences of a mistake are so severe that rescue may be impossible.
