<h2>[Hongcun] A national 5A-level attraction, known as the "village in a painting".</h2><h2><br></h2><h2>As of 2014, the town has preserved more than 140 Ming and Qing dynasty dwellings. The main attractions include: Spring Dawn at Nanhu Lake, Reading in the Academy, Lotus in the Moon Pond, Niuchang Canal, Shuangxi Yingbi, Ancient Trees in Front of the Pavilion, and Leigang Sunset.</h2><p><br></p><p><img src="https://ak-d.tripcdn.com/images/0356m12000dppupg4773C_Z_1000_0.jpg" source="ttd" imageid="20686030" sourcewidth="800" sourcehight="513"></p><p><br></p><h2>Hongcun is a "cow-shaped village" with the entire village layout resembling a plowing ox lying by the stream. The ancient Hui-style buildings with white walls and green tiles are built beside the water, basically facing north and south. Most of the houses here use horse-head walls and stone roads, which are unique to Huizhou architecture, as if telling an ancient story. Walking in the alleys of Xidi, it seems as if you have traveled back to ancient times and felt the tranquility and harmony. The horse-head walls are staggered in height, like a vivid scroll, telling the vicissitudes of history. The stone roads are winding, as if telling the footprints and stories of the ancients.</h2><p><br></p><p><img src="https://ak-d.tripcdn.com/images/0104g120008bver6v693D_Z_1000_0.jpg" source="gs" imageid="507902909" sourcewidth="2500" sourcehight="1591"></p><p><br></p><h2>Xidi Ancient Town is home to the Xidi Ancient Village, a world cultural heritage site.
