Tai Xuan Taoist temple ~ The first temple in Hong Kong dedicated to the worship of Zhang Daoling, the ancestral celestial master
In the 7th year of Emperor Xuanzong's Tianbao era (748 AD), Zhang Daoling was posthumously honored as "Grand Preceptor" due to his association with Laozi. In the 4th year of Emperor Xizong's Zhonghe era (884 AD), he was conferred the title "Great Master of Three Heavens who Supports the Teachings".
Emperor Chongzhen of the Ming dynasty posthumously honored him as the "Supreme deity of infinite wisdom encompassing all directions." The Zhengyi sect reveres him as the ancestral celestial master, supreme minister of Taixuan, and the great sage who subdues demons and protects the Taoist faith.
