Day 1
Meet at meeting point: Pick up in front of the Tourism Office in Aix en Provence. Please be ready 15 minutes before tour departure time. All tours leave on time!Attractions and Activities: Chateauneuf du pape (Free entry) On this full day journey, depart for the famous Chateauneuf du Pape vineyard. As you reach this historic wine producing region (planted by the Romans during the 14th century), discover the village & its ancient castle that was the summer residence of the Pope's during their stay in the area and enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view on the valley. During the morning, you will visit and taste local wines in a carefully selected winery. At lunch, your guide will suggest different local options. After lunch, experience your second Chateauneuf du Pape winery tour. In each winery of the day, you will first be introduced to the estate and its history. Then, your visit will focus on the wine making process and the visit of the technical installations. The local wines are well known for their full bodied red wines made predominantly with different grape varieties such as Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre, typical local grapes in south of France. After the second visit, we will take you back to Aix. 8 hr(s)
