Our Outlander Day Tour Bus tour from Edinburgh explores famous filming locations from the TV series. Experience Midhope Castle, the Lallybroch in Outlander, enjoy time in Falkland, which was set as Inverness in the series, and spend time in Culross; home to Claire's herb garden and the Mercat Cross in Cranesmuir Village. Please note: Midhope Castle will be closed from 23 December until 1 April. Our Outlander Tour in EdinburghOur day starts from Edinburgh's Royal Mile and heads to our first attraction, Midhope Castle. This 16th-century tower is the backdrop to Lallybroch, the family home of Jamie Fraser. Stop here to take photos and soak up the atmosphere before our Outlander tour continues. Follow in Claire and Jamie's footsteps as we travel north to the Royal Burgh in Linlithgow, where you'll have the opportunity to photograph Linlithgow Palace, Wentworth Prison from Outlander. The palace was originally a resting place for the Royal Family when travelling between Edinburgh and Stirling Castle. Its imposing tower overlooks the stunning scenery. We will stop here for a while to buy refreshments and explore the town. We then head to the small village of Culross on the Fife coast. Culross is a very good example of a 17th century village in Scotland. The gardens here appear in Claire's herb garden and the Mercat Cross in Cranesmuir Village in Outlanders is also located here. We stop here for plenty of time to explore the village's cobbled streets and the charming Biscuit Café. From Culross, we continued to Falkland. This small village in Fife was used as Inverness in the series; Claire and Frank spent their Two dives honeymoon here. The Covenanter Hotel in the village is also the location where Claire sees Jamie's ghost. Enjoy refreshments while exploring the hamlet, and if you wish, visit Falkland Palace and Gardens (open Wednesday to Sunday). Our Return will take us to South Queensferry. We will stop here to take photos and enjoy the beautiful views overlooking the Firth of Forth before heading back to Edinburgh. Our unique journey through Outlander ends here.
