(Alfama,Baixa,Mouraria) Portuguese gastronomy has so much to offer: famous for its wine, meat & seafood, its 'conventual' desserts & much more; from Mediterranean influences and the legacy of Portugal's colonial history, namely in the wide variety of spices used. I will present you with a selection of tastes, flavors, cultural influences and cooking techniques through small plates and the right beverage (wines, liqueurs, juice), while wandering through historic neighborhoods and some of the hidden corners of the city. With stories from the present and from the past, you will have a full cultural immersion in this old city.
