Reviews: Chichén Itzá Ancestral Tour from Playa del Carmen with Cenote

Very knowledgeable 2 tour guides. Nice bus and schedule, but included lunch was too simple - a lot of rice and potato, but not any meat.

Ceser And Karina, wow what a day. I have done a few trips on different countries and this has been the best group experience. From the tour of the ruins, the swim and the turtles. The turtles were amazing, Amazing day and amazing group. I have done many different tours over the years and this was the best.
Reviews: Riviera Maya: Tulum Ruins and 2 Cenotes Half-Day Tour
Guest User2026-03-22
Very informative! Our guide, Moo, was fantastic. As a true Mayan, he gave us a super authentic insight into the culture and shared lots of interesting anecdotes. The Tulum ruins are a great alternative if the drive to Chichén Itza is too far. The two cenotes are beautiful, and swimming in them and seeing bats up close has been the best experience we've had in Mexico so far. Swim belts, which are mandatory for swimming, are also available in children's sizes. There are changing rooms and free lockers for valuables. Outside the cenotes, Mayans sell homemade honey and real cacao chocolate (highly recommended!). We did the tour with our four-year-old daughter, and it was all perfectly manageable. The only downside was that the group was very large (around 30 people), and the pickup from the tour operator to the first stop (Tulum ruins) took two hours…

We had an excellent looooong day visiting Chichen Itza first, then having a great lunch and a wonderful swim at Cenote and a short visit to Valladolid. Our guides were Marcellas and Victor and worth every penny.
