The basilica is entirely coated with marble, while the canopy over the high altar is gilded in bronze and gold. All paintings in the dome and ceiling are by Giovanni Battista Conti of Rome. One of the fascinating parts of the basilica is the statue of St. George, sculpted in wood by Pawlu Azzopardi in 1838. 3 hr(s)
