Day 1
Meet at meeting point: in front of the park "Francisco Cantòn Rosado"Attractions and Activities: Rio Lagartos (Free entry) Ría Lagartos is a protected natural area. In this beautiful place, you can take a boat tour where you'll see beautiful mangroves, crocodiles, herons, pelicans, and flamingos. You can also enjoy a Mayan clay bath, which serves as a skin exfoliant. (Boat tour not included). IMPORTANT (experience cost/payment required on site) Boat Tour of Río Lagartos Option 1: ($750 MXN per person, minimum 2 people) ($550 MXN per person for groups of 3 or more: service in Spanish) Option 2: ($850 MXN per person, minimum 2 people) ($700 MXN per person for groups of 3 or more: service in English) It is important to confirm in advance if the boat tour is in English, as it is subject to availability. Attractions and Activities: Las Coloradas (Free entry) To continue with the tour we will visit the pink lake or lagoon of "Las Coloradas". The water and the surrounding environment are incredibly salty, attracting brine shrimp, plankton, and red algae. As the water evaporates in the sunlight, these organisms become more concentrated and eventually create the famous bright pink water. Because the salt we consume is processed there, it is forbidden to enter the water but you can take a tour around the lake and take incredible pictures. (Entrance fee not included but optional). Attractions and Activities: Zona Arqueológica de Ek Balam (At your own expense) Ek Balam ruin is one of the tallest in the area, standing at 95 feet tall where you can climb to the highest point of the ruins, which will take you high above the treetops and give you a stunning view of the peninsula. Attractions and Activities: Cenote Hubiku (At your own expense) And finally we will visit the Mayan town of Hubiku where you can swim in a beautiful cenote, taste liquors and have delicious Yucatecan cuisine for lunch. Cenote Hubiku, has the meaning "the great lord" or "nest of the iguanas." It is a young semi-open cenote, since you can see that on the surface it has an opening at the top small but enough for the sun's rays to enter and make the water have incredible sparkles, allowing it to show its charms, showing off the blue color of the water.
