Attractions and Activities: San Jose Succotz (Free entry) San Jose Succotz is a Maya village in the Cayo District of Belize, consisting mainly of people of Yucatec Maya descent. It's located approximately 10 minutes west of San Ignacio Town. Xunantunich Maya Temple is located in this village. We will driver to the village where will get on the hand cranked ferry and cross the Mopan River to gain access to the Maya site. 10 min(s)
Attractions and Activities: Xunantunich Mayan Ruins (Ticket included) Here you will find yourself immersed in pristine jungle surroundings, home of howler monkeys, spider monkeys, birds and iguanas. While exploring along with your guide, you will learn about the history of this site and the Maya civilization that once inhabited it. Attractions and Activities: Nohoch Che'en Caves Branch Archaeological Reserve (Cave Tubing, Cave Kayaking & Jungle Zipline) (Ticket included) Learn about the local flora and fauna throughout a 30 minute hike along the rivers' edge as we make our way to the entrance of the Jaguar Paw Cave. This natural wonder was carved out of the limestone foothills of the Maya Mountains by the river that runs through it and forms part of the largest cave system in all of Central America. Archaeological research notes that the ancient Maya visited the site to conduct important rituals. Once at the entrance we strap on our headlights and life vests and off we go. You are propelled by the gentle currents as your guide educates you about the natural formations found inside the cave. Making our way out of the first cave, the second portion becomes more exciting as the water flows faster. Kick back, relax and enjoy the ride!
