Our guide was very knowledgeable and could tell us a lot about the history, culture, and life in Cape Verde. He also answered all our questions perfectly and spoke excellent German.

Calu was kind, welcoming, informative, professional and really relaxed. Couldn't stop smiling on the full day tour, amazing, relaxing and personalised. We got to see amazing off road sites with hardly any other tourists, seeing sharks, turtles, amazing beaches with a chance to swim. He arranged a vegetarian lunch for us, took photos, gave us information throughout and the tour was so varied and interesting. He was a great driver and made us feel very safe at all times. We were in paradise today, had the best time and so grateful to the wonderful Calu.

If you are visiting China and do not already have a Chinese mobile phone number, then you must have a eSIM card to move around, because China is a massive digital land!
Reviews: Sal Island: 4x4 Off-Road Quad Tour with a Local Guide

Fantastic experience with the kids on the side-by-side. Andy, our guide, was great and speaks excellent French. We were able to stop near the zipline, at the salt flats, and at Shark Bay where we saw baby sharks for €3 per person, shoes included. The ride is very dynamic, so wear clothes you don't mind getting dusty. 😃 The equipment is good (they even came to replace a side-by-side mid-ride because it had a steering problem), and the team is very friendly. This isn't an experience you'd have in France, driving at full speed along the coast! Go for it and have a great time!

We were picked up 30 mins before proposed start time and contacted directly by the driver. Bus was a bit rickety but fine to get us to the 4x4 base. Safety briefing was rapid, dust scarfs purchased and then we were off! The 4x4's were great fun to drive and the route was mostly off road, very dusty and bouncy as you would expect - I really enjoyed it, my partner less so as doesn't like speed or discomfort! My helmet was a bit tight but I've a big head!!! Didn't spend very long at each stop (3 overall) and then a long drive back to the start point. All in the trip lasted the 3 hours as expected and I really enjoyed the driving and a chance to see different bits of the Island - even if it was a bit samey. We actually went back to Shark Bay on a separate, specific trip but didn't see anything we didn't get to on this trip so on that basis alone the 4x4 trip was well worth it! Made for much more fun than laying by the pool getting sunburnt!
