Reviews: Christchurch round-trip + Aoraki / Mount Cook + Lake Tekapo + Church of the Good Shepherd + Lake Pukaki 1-day tour

It was a fantastic English-language day tour with friends from all over the world on board. The drivers were from Nepal, the US, and New Zealand. They were very friendly and professional. The journey was quite tiring, but Ye kept chatting with us, making us feel less lonely. Although the itinerary was rushed, it was still very fulfilling, and we visited all the places we wanted to see.

Do not hesitate to book this tour! We went in late June (early wintertime), and it was wonderful...scenery, weather, wines, food. Due to the time of year, the vineyards were not crowded, but the weather was lovely, and we were given a fair amount of attention at each of our stops. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and humorous. Van was comfortable. Tour moved along nicely, but did allow for some lingering and interactions with the proprietors and other travelers. Was one of the highlights of our time on the South Island. Enjoy.

Our driver Sheil/Shale was the best. our group was on time and we had such sunny weather. Paying premium meant we got first dibs on the seats which helped a bit with my motion sickness. The views of the lanscape were spectacular and memorable and I got to spend quality time with my husband for our honeymoon. Definitely planning for another trip perhaps on our anniversary in the future and via helicopter.

Great trip, great guide and beautiful scenery. Was a shame that the helicopter guests told our guide the wrong time for their landing. We had to rush round our hike to be there on time to pick them up. We ended up sitting in the car park for over an hour waiting for them. Not the guide’s fault, he was very apologetic but really frustrating!! We didn’t have time to properly do the lake because of this. Would be better if we did the same length hike but had lunch at the Hooker Valley main entrance (with the nice view), whilst waiting for them. Then they can send a message when they’re finished and we can make the 10 min journey over - instead of arriving before them?
