Attractions and Activities: Munich Residenz (Free entry) The Residenz, a magnificent complex of buildings in Munich, was once the royal palace of the Wittelsbach monarchs of Bavaria. This sprawling palace houses over 130 rooms, including the stunning Cuvilliés Theatre and the historic Hercules Hall. The Residenz is a testament to Bavarian history and architectural splendor, offering visitors a glimpse into the opulent lifestyle of the royal family. Attractions and Activities: Maximilianeum (Free entry) The Maximilianeum, a grand Neo-Renaissance building, was commissioned by King Maximilian II of Bavaria in 1857. Designed by Friedrich Bürklein, it initially served as an educational institution for gifted students. Situated on the banks of the Isar River, the Maximilianeum is a striking landmark on Maximilianstrasse, a renowned boulevard lined with Neo-Gothic palaces. We stop here for a quick photo op.
