Reviews: Crete: Olive Oil, Soap, Wine, Raki - Flavorful Culinary Journey

A wonderful culinary tour to a winery, including a tasting and vineyard walk, followed by a tour, explanation, and tasting at their own raki distillery. A visit to an olive oil farm producing their own raki was also included, followed by another tasting. We also visited a traditional potter and concluded the tour with a delicious traditional lunch in a small, picturesque village. Everything was perfectly arranged.★

Reviews: Day Trip to Agios Nikolaos and Spinalonga Island

We done this trip on 3rd October with Altino Travel Services. A short journey from Hersonissos to our first stop at the coastal city of Agios Nikolaos. We visited a few souvenir shops on route to view the lake from above. Then walked down to the harbour and finished off with the statue of Zeus. AN is much less touristy than Heraklion and Chania and a real treasure. Then a short drive up to the small village of Elounda for some lunch before the boat journey over to Spinalonga Island. Our Lady Guide (didn't get her name) was fantastic, gave great insight to the places visited and the Island of Crete in general. She spoke perfect English and French and was great fun. Spinalonga Island is a must visit for those interested in culture and history. We first done the boat around the island then disembarked for 1.5 hours to explore. You can easily walk around the base of the island in a hour. It is a little bit hilly in places but nothing too difficult. For those who want to see the upper part of the island and take in the best views you need to take a lot of steps or slopes so need to be quite fit. On the way back to Elounda, some of the group were able to take a swim around the boat in the shallow and clear waters. We then headed back late afternoon. The trip was around 9 hours overall and great value.★

Kostas was such a hospitable and knowledgeable guide. A source of all things historical and cretian we were impressed by his communication, attention to detail and general care for our experience. I would highly recommend Kostas whatever your needs may be as he was able to customize eveything to our needs; make recommendations and changes as needed and on the fly. We stopped at the most wonderful local taverna in herklion during our travels and really were able to maximize our short time in this beautiful place. If you’re thinking about booking Kostas and his team don’t think anymore and book! Thank you!★

This Guide was Great! Clear, easy to follow, and understandable! We did like this particular company that provided this service - it's our second and quite good. Compared to our Acropolis experience - 100% improvement - which was entry ticket only and non audio tour!!
