Reviews: Tetebatu Walking Tour - Rice Terraces, Waterfall & Monkey Forest
Guest User2026-02-25
We visited Tetebatu during February, in the middle of the rainy season and Ramadan. Our driver Kiki and guide Eddy still accommodated us excellently. The tour included pick-up at Bangsal port with a nice two hour drive with Kiki to Tetebatu. Kiki answered all questions about culture, food, religion, traditions etc wonderfully. In Tetebatu we met up with our guide Eddy. The tour included visits to rice terraces, traditional coffee roasting/grinding, and production of coconut oil. Here we got banana pancakes, fresh coffee and coconut. Eddy was absolutely amazing with explaining all the different processes, and we were gently guided through all the different steps together with the whole family. Afterwards we visited more rice terraces with views, stopped for some fresh fruits and water before taking a swim in Tetebatu waterfall. We finished in the Monkey forest where we were fortunate enough to see both the black and the grey monkey. Last stop was at a local restaurant for a late lunch before Kiki drove us to our lodge in Tetebatu. Too Late we found out it is possible to rent a small lodge with Eddy, if one wants to prolong the experience! Don't forget to bring mosquito repellent, some cash and shoes for swimming in the waterfall (there might be harmless leeches). Overall, we had an amazing time and could not recommend this tour enough, to anyone interested in some local traditions in Lombok, Tetebatu.

Rema as driver was really great, she spoke German... The tour was actually okay, my wife and I saw a lot. The only drawback was that the path to the waterfall involved several steps, and since we are over 60, it wasn't entirely safe. However, the guide Astro, who was responsible for the waterfall, provided excellent support – perfect.

Tom and Jack were excellent guides for the trip. Got to see turtles, underwater statues and corals. Lunch was eaten on Gili Meno Island. What a lovely day!
