### Three-day Lake District Adventure Tour ### first day- Witness the mighty Ella Falls- Take photos at Ullswater, known as "the most beautiful lake in England"- Relax in the market town of Keswick After leaving Manchester, we drive north into the Lake District National Park to Ambleside, one of the most popular towns in the Lake District and surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in England. Here you will have time to explore and enjoy lunch.<img src="https://ak-d.tripcdn.com/images/0355812000fn1toomC6C4_Z_1000_0.jpg" source="ttd" imageid="53362821" sourcewidth="1080" sourcehight="1080">We then head to Kirkstone Pass for some photos. This is the highest motorable pass in the Lake District and you will love the views.<img src="https://ak-d.tripcdn.com/images/0353412000fmjld329782_Z_1000_0.jpg" source="ttd" imageid="53305939" sourcewidth="800" sourcehight="800">Next we drive along Ullswater, often called England's most beautiful lake, where we'll give you the opportunity to take a forest walk and see the mighty Aira Force Falls.<img src="https://ak-d.tripcdn.com/images/0352e12000fn1uhbx1DA4_Z_1000_0.jpg" source="ttd" imageid="53363248" sourcewidth="1080" sourcehight="1080">Our final stop of the day is another stunning viewpoint, Friar’s Crag, a great vantage point for looking out over Derwentwater.<img src="https://ak-d.tripcdn.com/images/0354m12000fn1saquD93C_Z_1000_0.jpg" source="ttd" imageid="53363241" sourcewidth="1080" sourcehight="1080">We will then make the short drive to the lively market town of Keswick where you will be accommodated in your own accommodation and have free time to explore this charming town. ### the next day- Take a breathtaking boat trip on Lake Windermere- Stroll through the cozy village of Hawkshead- Enjoy the tranquility of the Wordsworth Narcissus Memorial Gardens Our first stop of the day was truly amazing. The mysterious Castlerigg standing stones are said to have been built over 5,000 years ago and were once a bustling centre for ancient pagan rituals.<img src="https://ak-d.tripcdn.com/images/0355q12000fn1zx0h95DF_Z_1000_0.jpg" source="ttd" imageid="53364158" sourcewidth="1080" sourcehight="1080">After exploring the past, we followed narrow country lanes to Grasmere, which Wordsworth called "the loveliest spot ever discovered by man."There is free time to visit Wordsworth's Dove Cottage, taste the legendary gingerbread, or enjoy the tranquility of Wordsworth's Narcissus Memorial Gardens beside the River Rothy.<img src="https://ak-d.tripcdn.com/images/0352l12000fn21lcwBD8F_Z_1000_0.jpg" source="ttd" imageid="53364172" sourcewidth="1080" sourcehight="1080">Next, it’s time for lunch, and we head to Bowness-on-Windermere, which is right next to Lake Windermere. This area is full of cute villages and surrounded by beautiful scenery. You can choose to take an optional boat trip on the lake, which is a great way to take in the scenery.In the afternoon you'll continue exploring this beautiful area, including a stop at the Langdale Boulders where you may discover some prehistoric rock paintings.<img src="https://ak-d.tripcdn.com/images/0351012000fn20vwm536C_Z_1000_0.jpg" source="ttd" imageid="53364165" sourcewidth="1080" sourcehight="1080">After a stop in the cosy village of Hawkshead, you'll return to Keswick in the early evening. Day 3- Enjoy a relaxing walk along the shores of Ullswater Lake- Learn about the Honister Pass slate mines Don't despair on your last day of travel, there are still many adventures waiting for you today. We drive along the winding road, passing Crummock Water and Buttermere, to Honister Mountain Pass.<img src="https://ak-d.tripcdn.com/images/0356y12000fn22ijtDE3A_Z_1000_0.jpg" source="ttd" imageid="53364459" sourcewidth="1080" sourcehight="1080">Stopping in the mountains, you’ll have the opportunity to visit an old slate mine, where a small number of Cumbrians still make a living. Next up is something that will make you stop and marvel. The massive Bowder Stone fell 200 metres from Bowder Crag, more than 10,000 years ago. The stone is estimated to weigh 2,000 tonnes, is around 9 metres tall and 15 metres in diameter. Imagine the sound it made when it hit the ground.<img src="https://ak-d.tripcdn.com/images/0350c12000fn24kl34E9C_Z_1000_0.jpg" source="ttd" imageid="53364431" sourcewidth="1080" sourcehight="1080">We returned to Keswick for a lovely lunch and then headed for a walk along the shores of Ullswater Lake.Your final big stop of the day is the market town of Kendal.
