Phang Nga Bay
Scattered with hundreds of limestone islets rising straight from the sea, this bay boasts islets that stand like isolated peaks. Resembling the karst peaks in Guilin, China, it is also known as the "Little Guilin of Thailand".
Located 75 kilometers northeast of Phuket, Phang Nga Bay was designated a national park on April 29, 1981. Administered under Phang Nga Province, it is hailed as the most scenic spot on the entire island. The islets are home to exquisitely formed stalactite caves, countless exotic rocks, and sea grottoes. Among them, James Bond Island (also called Khao Phing Kan) and Khao Phing Kan gained worldwide fame as filming locations for the iconic movie The Man with the Golden Gun.
The bay is also blanketed with rare mangrove forests—plants that reproduce via vivipary. Waterways wind between the mangroves and small fishing villages, offering a serene and leisurely experience as you glide along in a small boat, taking in the tranquil views of the mangroves and villages.
