We visited in November on a weekday. Lesser crowd and the weather was perfect, sunny between 10°C & 15°C. Our tour came with a guide who got us the tickets and planned the hiking routes, covering every "tourist-must-see" parts of the mountain. The buffet lunch recommended by the guide at ¥98/pax up on the mountains is a really good deal too. Huangshan is NO JOKE. The 8km up and down the steps lasted for almost 6 hours, excluding the one-way 20mins shuttle bus ride & one-way 10mins cable car ride. At the end of the tour our legs were not cooperative anymore. Besides the breathtaking views, it was also heartbreaking to see elderly potters carrying approximately 180 catties (about 108kg!) of goods up and down the mountains. They are literally breaking their backs 😭! Some even stopped and asked passers-by for water / food. Would forming a bucket brigade or a human chain be workable?

Tour guide was friendly and informative. Our Chinese was limited and may missed noting some info. Tour guide 许导 is very helpful; we misunderstood the timing and came back a bit late missing the bus. 许导 waited for us and arranged another bus back. Very grateful for the good service!

Hua Shan is so beautiful, I understand why it’s one of the most famous mountains in China. I’m happy I booked this tour, made it so convenient to get there and coordinate all the transfers required. It was well organized and good flow. A very good value for the price too. Zem, the English translator, made my trip even more enjoyable. He took the time to explain directions, key points of view on the mountain and safety guidelines. But not only that, he was friendly, gave me good tips on visiting Xi’an, he genuinely cares about the clients experience. Thank you Zem!! I would 100% recommend this tour.


