I don't think I can really convey how awesome our tour was. it all starts with the guide and driver, our guide Endo was the most sincere and knowledgeable local who invited us into his part of the world with open arms. we were lucky enough to have only the 2 of us on tour so it was really personal. the temple/town was incredible with such strong history of peace and war, the hike was unreal "very easy" fyi. but what a beautiful part of the world. thank you Endo for an incredible time, wish to see you again
Reviews: 1 Day Snow Monkey Tour from Tokyo with Sukiyaki Lunch!
Guest User2026-03-04
The overall experience was excellent, with a well-planned and comprehensive itinerary. The tour guide was highly professional, managing the pace of the entire trip exceptionally well, with each activity seamlessly connected, making the trip feel fulfilling without being rushed. Although the overall journey was relatively long, the tour guide arranged appropriate rest stops along the way, and the onboard commentary was lively and engaging. They even thoughtfully provided small candies, adding a lot of emotional value and making the entire journey more relaxed and enjoyable. The overall experience was very comfortable and professional. We were also very lucky to see snow monkeys bathing in the hot springs. I heard that this isn't a guaranteed sight, so seeing them was a real surprise and made the trip even more memorable. In short, this is a very professional and enjoyable product; both the itinerary and the team service are highly recommended.
Reviews: Nagano: Snow Monkeys, Zenkoji Temple & Sake Day Trip

A fantastic experience; Mariko proved to be a super-efficient guide. The Zenkoji Temple was splendid. The forest before reaching the snow park was enchanting, and we saw the monkeys playing and fighting among themselves. Even though Mariko told us there were fewer monkeys than expected, it seemed to me that there were actually quite a lot. A highly recommended experience.
Reviews: Nagano/Matsumoto: Matsumoto Castle and Narai-juku Day Trip

I had the most perfect day! Endo San, our tour guide, is a retired professor which makes him the most incredible and knowledgeable tour guide. As one of the only remaining original castles from the Edo period, the Matsumoto Castle is a must visit for anyone that admires history. Visiting a traditional town and home in Narai-juku was a dream. I would recommend not missing the headless Virgen Mary, now a Shinto shrine, but also done so Christians that had to keep their religion hidden could visit during the 1700's. I hope you are lucky enough to have Endo San take you out for one of the most insightful visits I have had while in Japan!!!
