I used it when traveling to Germany, France, and Switzerland. It seems like you don't need to reserve a seat. I didn't, but I was able to sit down everywhere. This pass saved me about 20,000 yen, so I highly recommend it. Apparently, if you don't activate it before boarding, you'll be fined.★

A bit pricey, but once you're there you forget about that. It's definitely worth doing. However, you'll have to pay extra to enter the different castles. If you're an Outlander fan, I still recommend it; it's something you should do at least once in your life. I felt like Claire, walking in the actors' footsteps.About
