Reviews: The Fisherman and Ceviche Culture of Lima Tour

Wow, just wow. Our guide, Alfredo, was a fountain of local information, very friendly and helpful. For those timid about Spanish, he speaks English very fluently. And he arranges for locals to help with the tour experience so that they, too, are financially compensated and benefit from these kinds of things, which is a major plus to us when we do any tour activities. My husband and I were picked up at our hotel lobby, got in the car that Alfredo had arranged, and the driver took us first to the docks/beach at Chorillos, where we walked through the fish market, learned the history of the wall murals, and strolled out to the end of the pier. Then we took a short (25 min) boat ride around and down the coastline, weaving through the artisanal boats and the fisherman on the water. Our captain was very capable out there on the waves. Afterwards, we grabbed a quick bite at a local lunch spot there at the docks by the market. Super! Then, we got back in with Alfredo and our driver to head up into the neighborhood in Chorillos, where we learned a bit about the architecture history and met a famous local boat master crafter who has been trained by his father and makes these fishing boats by hand in a very meticulous process. Very interesting. Then we moved on to meet a local man who runs a little restaurant called Estación Vista Mar Chorillos. We watched him prepare ceviche for us, and WOWZERS. Ok, we are from New Orleans, so we know what good food tastes like. This was on par with any of the best restaurants we have back home. After eating, we took another trip driving up further sort of behind the neighborhood and up onto the cliff/hill where there is a huge statue of Christ and a wonderful view. There were other little things along the way that were great about this tour as well, but you really need to go and do it yourself. The money is well worth the experience, the food, and the knowledge gained. Thank you so much to our awesome tour guide!
Reviews: Tour to the Archaeological Sanctuary of Pachacamac (small group)

I paid to be picked up at our hotel, the comms was confusing, i dont know if this is *** or the company, i think ***. I contacted the company directly to confirm, and they were very responsive. Once we were in the vehiclMelanie was very chatty, making us feel welcome in the traffic (which if you come to Lima is absolutely terrible). We picked up the others on our trip and headed out of Lima, Melanie gave us a running commentary and where we were and what we could see out of the window as we passed. At the museum, melanie was very knowledgeable and answered our questions, with additional information, helping us understand the history of pachacamac. At the site, the car took is distance between buildings and we went most of the way to the top (maybe 10m lower). All the time getting details of history, gods and stories handed down, from our guide. Would i go again yes, as i think there is more to learn. Value for money, excellent (in my opinion ).
Reviews: Pre Inca Temple of Pachacamac Half-Day Tour from Lima

Guide was Mila Campos, a great guide. we began with a short stop in the Barranca District then on to Pachacamac which is a huge mult-acre site. You begin a museum to view artifacts and tapestries, then you head out to see the ancient walls. At one point you see a step pyramid that had ramps leading from the ground to the top. Another section was an Incan Train, where one direction headed north towards Columbia and the other direction was south towards Chile. Then you go to another section on a hill and eventually you go up enough steps, turn a corner and there is the ocean. As you walk further you see an estate with its own bullring, and further on you overlook a polo field. If you love history, you will enjoy this tour.

Jordan and Manuel were excellent navigating our one day experience in Peru! Pick up on time, communication on point and flexible enough to accommodate our family of four. You will see Peru thru sea, air and land with a bit of everything for everyone. Having them both gave us the peace of mind we were expecting during our vacation. 100% recommended.
