Meet at meeting point: Westport Cruises The Quay, Cloonmonad, Westport, Co. Mayo, Ireland Our cruises depart from Westport Harbour .We are a short 5 minute drive from Westport Town Centre. From Westport Town Centre take the N59 signposted Westport Harbour. At the Towers Pub turn right. Turn left at T- junction ( signposted Clew Bay Heritage Centre). Our next sight is the scene of the Achill Disaster. On the 14th June 1894, 30 Achill Islanders lost their lives as they made their way by hooker to Westport to board the SS Elm ; a steamship bound for Glasgow.

Our next sight is the majestic Inishgort Lighthouse , nestled at the bay's entrance. Since 1806 it has aided ships approaching Westport and Newport.
