Reviews: Whale Watching Cruise on a Yacht in Reykjavik

Fantastic crew and boat we were on the Amelia Rose. If I could find a way to book it without going through ***, I would. Viatour truly sucks. The meeting place they listed and the address they gave were not the same. We used to live right by the address they gave so we knew it wasn’t right- it’s a residential neighborhood about 5-10 min walk from the harbor. Our friends going with us almost missed the boat because they followed that instruction. The captain and the whale spotter were excellent, put us right in a pod of dolphins that were swimming with humpbacks. We watched multiple spouts and diving for a really long time. Puffins flying around on the way there and back were a bonus. Highly recommend this company (even though you can’t guarantee what’s out there at any given time). But don’t book through ***!!

Seriously great energy from the crew. They have the other operators in communication to help increase chances of seeing whales. Didnt even have to keave the harbour before we started seeing whales, there were a handful of humpbacks which according to the guide was out of character fornthis oeriod of the year, they're normally further out. Boat was smooth and comfortable. Onboard bar and hot drinks at additional cost. It was great fun and I'd definitely go again. Only minor gripe the meetup point wasn't 100% clear on maps (turned out to be inside the pub).

Even though we didn't see the Northern Lights, we had a fantastic day. The stops were interesting, and there was plenty of time to enjoy them. The guide was friendly.

It was a wonderful tour. I especially enjoyed the glacier walk. It was worth coming to Iceland just for that. My only regret is that we couldn't go into the cave at Reynisfjara Beach because of the bad weather and rough seas.

The Bustravel routes in Iceland are very mature and classic. The car is in good condition. The guide is enthusiastic and responsible and introduced in place.
