We had two guides, the first one in the Mezquita was awesome, very knowledgeable and open to questions, the second one through the jewish quarter a catastrophe, only produced himself and didn‘t give space to questions.

When the Reconquista swept over Al-Andalus, the Mezquita was virtually the sole Islamic religious building that was substantially left standing, and it is still as evident today as it was then why. It’s a work of unparallelled mastery, mystery and complexity, most of which would have been lost on me if I had simply wandered in on my own. Instead I left feeling thoroughly enlightened thanks to the untiring efforts of Olivia. For that, most heartfelt compliments - from a very grateful little chicken.


