Reviews: Private Mumbai Sightseeing Tour with Local English Guide

Where do I begin?! Chirag designed a private tour for us and oh my goodness, what a day! We got up at 5 am to get to the wholesale flower market and the fruit & vegetable markets. Wow! A feast for the eyes! Sassoon Dock in the early morning is also a must-see. It's right up there with the flower, fruit & veg markets. Because it was a public holiday therefore not terribly busy on the trains, Chirag took us for a short train ride on a whim, just for something different. Dhobi Ghat, the open air laundry - another highlight! Chor Bizarre was an eye-opening experience because there is a sea of second-hand tools, car parts, appliances, plus a whole lot more. We visited the Dharavi slums last. Words cannot describe this part of Mumbai, and photos could never do justice to what all your senses experience. This tour is the best I've ever done so a big thank you to Chirag and also our driver, Pranav. What an amazing adventure!

WOW!! So much more than I was expecting. We saw live action filming several scenes for different productions. We got to dress in costume and play act on sets with props. We saw dancing shows and got to dance with the performers(well they danced I just shook my body like an idiot). We got to interact with writers directors actors and crew. We sang songs in the sound room to see how the pros do it. Dinesh was a great guide that made it all fun and exciting! Everyone was very kind and welcoming.

Sufiyan was an amazing guide and took great care of us throughout the tour. I really liked how the food trip involved a lot of walking and even taking the local train — it actually made us hungrier and able to enjoy more food. What I appreciated most was that he didn’t just talk about the food. He shared deep cultural insights about traditions, daily life, and local history. It felt much more meaningful than just eating. My favorite part was when he took us to the seaside. The atmosphere was beautiful, the food was delicious, and we got to sit on a mat and eat just like the locals — it felt very authentic. After that, he brought us to a market where everything was happening all at once. It was busy and intense, but it gave us the real Indian vibe. We ate so much, and the tour ended perfectly with a very delicious ice cream.
