I was a bit dubious when our guide who did tour was unfortunately unexpected unable to as had last minute replacement s before but the guide was friendly and knowledgeable and in spite of last minute changes - which could not be helped - had a great day - thank you all so much★

We were somewhat disappointed with the tour. We never received an email stating we needed to get the tickets for the bear sanctuary ahead of time. We knew they weren’t included but didn’t have that information. It was frustrating to be told we might not get in as the groups are limited.
The other disappointment was the cost. It was over $300 for the 4 of us but the tickets to the 3 tours were not included? It was like an overpriced bus ticket. In hindsight we could have taken an Uber or bus for less than this.
All that said, the castle, the citadel and the sanctuary were nice. Would recommend anyone visiting Braşov to check them out.★

My friends and I booked a private tour with Active Travel, had the most wonderful experience with Marian, our guide. He was absolutely accommodating in every way and chose two locations that were perfect for us. The scenery was breathtaking, and Marian was so knowledgeable, and shared so many interesting stories and historical facts with us. After our hike we finished up having lunch in a guest house which was arranged by Marian, and everything was perfect. Marian spoke with so much love and passion for the Carpathian’s and Romania, and is an advocate for ecotourism which we found inspiring. We recommend Active Travel and will def be back to Romania to book with them again.★

Dani the guide was very knowledgeable, funny and helpful.
Good value for money - a long (apx 12hours) but great day - lots packed in and all 3 stops were fab.
Tickets from Dani are €60 (or 300 Lei) for entry to both castles, extensive information for both castles and for the black church in Brasov. Payment can be cash or card but you need data on your phone for card payments as you have to follow a link from a QR code. The bus leaves promptly at 7am but there is a strict no eating on board policy so have breakfast before boarding (drinks were allowed).
Lots to see on the drive also - get the feel for real Romanian. Would definitely recommend. 5stars 👌★

Awesome! Although I have been to the castle, this castle is used as a palace for gorgeous decoration, beautiful and beautiful, definitely the most luxurious castle, with Neuschwanstein Castle.
The local hostel has its own tour bus, the tour guide is straight and professional, from beginning to end, and is very responsible for every tourist, give a big praise, overall awesome, good service, cost-effective, great experience.
