Attractions and Activities: Teotitlan del Valle (Free entry) The town of Teotitlán del Valle is located 30 kilometers from the city of Oaxaca and its meaning is "place of the gods", in the Nahuatl league. It is famous thanks to the quality and beauty of its wool textile products: rugs, jackets, bags, sarapes, tapestries, "corridors", carpeting, curtains and dresses, made on large wooden looms and decorated with natural dyes, whose designs go from the traditional Zapotec and Mixtec frets and griffins, to reproductions of contemporary painters.
