A thoroughly enjoyable half day tour! We were picked up direct from our hotel (as were all the others on the tour) and we visited the Grand Mosque, the Royal Opera House, Mutrah Souk, the Bait Al Zubair museum and the Royal Palace. Our guide, Jamal was excellent, giving the group a really well informed narrative throughout. He was able to answer all our questions and was really friendly and sensibly amusing. A really great way to see some amazing parts of Muscat.

The activity was very punctual, starting exactly at 4:00 PM and finishing at 6:00 PM as scheduled. The guide was excellent, informative, friendly, and entertaining throughout the trip. The Omani dhow cruise itself was a wonderful experience, and witnessing the sunset from the boat was truly beautiful and memorable.

This was a very insightful day. Early start and late finish but can recommend this trip to the old capital of Nizwa with its lovely souks, fresh date tasting, circular fort and Imam castle, then the spectacular Green Mountain and lush banana gardens at the base. Our guide, Ali, made it a special day.

I booked this trip directly with Star Tours Oman via email. The communication went easily and correctly. The old town of Nizwa was very beautiful. There was plenty of time to visit the souk, to taste a dozen kinds of dates, and to visit the Nizwa Fort. In the afternoon we visited Fort Bahla and Fort Jabrin. These two forts were recently restored and are very beautiful. I cannot thank my guide Ali enough for the effort he made to make this trip unforgettable.

We highly recommend a tour with Khalid! We had very little time in Oman and he gave us a wonderful glimpse into this country's history, heritage and culture. Despite the itinerary being fairly packed, Khalid was patient and didn't rush us once - instead he prioritised the most important locations (Nizwa and Jebel Shams). He was kind, respectful and very knowledgeable. His driving was safe and he was clearly experienced with the zig-zaggy roads leading up to the breath-taking viewpoint on Jebel Shams.


