The scenic region of the south coast is one of the flattest regions of Iceland, and where most of all grain farming takes place. The high mountains shield the area from the harshest winds from the north.

Up next is Reynisfjara black sand beach, with the Reynisdrangar rock formations and columnar basalt. The beach is one of the most spectacular and beautiful beaches in Iceland, but can be dangerous so do not go too close to the waves.
