Reviews: Ecobike tour in historic Heraklion
Guest User2025-11-10
Alex was a great host and guide. He made sure we had proper directions to get to his place and started on time. We then hopped on our eco-bikes and toured the city with Alex filling in details about the history of the city. We finished the tour back at his place with a nice mezze.

The most amazing workshop ever!!! Greg is full of knowledge and he’s kind, patient, and truly special. Totally worth the visit. Beyond being a wonderful experience, you leave with a recipe you can continue using at home. The atmosphere of the workshop is very welcoming and high-quality. I enjoyed every moment highly recommended!❤️
Reviews: Heraklion: Sightseeing Tour with Greek Meze

Fantastic walking tour with Marina, who was not only warm and welcoming, but also exceptionally knowledgeable about the history of Heraklion. She met my wife and me near the main park and guided us on a relaxed stroll along the impressive city walls, originally built by Arab pirates after they seized the city from the Byzantine Empire. Marina, who plans to begin her studies in archaeology, brought the city’s layered past to life. She explained how Heraklion — once known as Candia — was shaped by a series of rulers: Venetians, Ottomans, Egyptians, and ultimately unified with Greece in 1913. With each chapter, the city’s architecture and culture evolved, and Marina helped us understand how those changes are still visible today. We ended the tour with a light mezze lunch at a traditional taverna near the Venetian Port — the perfect way to reflect on what we’d seen. If you’re curious about Heraklion’s rich history and want a guide who truly loves the subject book Marina!
