Reviews: Beijing: Mutianyu Great Wall and Summer Palace One Day Bus Tour with Options

I'd like to share my experience. It's warm on the wall on January 8th. The temperature is just above freezing. Those accustomed to Far Eastern and Siberian winters with temperatures of -20-30 degrees Celsius will find it very comfortable. We haven't tried the green route. It's shorter (1.5 hours) and easier. We climbed the red route (2.5 hours) from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, taking 40 minutes each way. From 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, it's a stroll. From 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, it's a dash up steep steps. The steps are of varying sizes. Watch your step. Wear light shoes. And don't dress too warmly. A wet back, and maybe even something else, will ruin the experience. It's better to dress lightly and sportily, and pack some extra gear in case the wind picks up.

Hello everyone! As soon as I paid for the reservation, the tour organizer messaged me on WeChat almost immediately. A few days before the tour, he also wrote to me and mentioned our guide, with whom we also communicated on WeChat! If you're traveling with children, definitely take this tour and you'll enjoy it! No need to worry about how or what to take, no need to go to the metro station to transfer to a bus; a comfortable minivan picked us up. Our guide, Tana, was very engaging and spoke excellent Russian; even the kids enjoyed listening! Very kind and attentive! The only thing I'll point out is that we paid 140 yuan per person for the round-trip cable car. The experience was simply wonderful! I highly recommend it!

A wonderful day trip to the Imperial Palace and Summer Palace. Christina, our afternoon guide, deserves special mention. She was very dedicated, motivated, provided many insights, and was also very easy to understand! Five stars for her alone! Overall, the stops matched the description, however, the timing was different. We ended up only having 1.5 hours in the Imperial Palace itself, as we had to wait two hours for tickets, among other things. This was acceptable if you know about it beforehand and can use the time differently. The tour of the Imperial Palace was also somewhat chaotic. We had to be very careful not to lose the group, which was a shame, as it meant we couldn't fully experience the sights. The afternoon at the Summer Palace, on the other hand, was fantastic! Overall, thank you for a great tour.

Thank you so much for making it easy to book the tour! Especially now that paying by card is difficult. We paid for everything with a Russian Mir card. The tour guide, Vanya (unfortunately, we didn't remember his Chinese name), was a very good person and guide. It was comfortable and wonderful with him! I won't even say much about the wall itself. You definitely need to see it and feel its scale! It's hard to find the words! Thank you so much to Vpna, the driver, and all the organizers for an unforgettable tour!!!

Words can't describe the beauty there. Book the tour and don't even hesitate! I also loved the organization: they wrote detailed instructions the day before, explaining everything. Our guide, Icy, was available and spoke very good English, so there were no communication issues. I really enjoyed her work: she shared a lot of information, helped with photos (I was alone, and Icy took many wonderful photos), and offered advice unrelated to the tour. I also loved the pace of the tour itself—we moved at a comfortable pace, had time to look around, take photos, and if anyone lagged behind, we waited for everyone. So if you have any doubts about your stamina, don't hesitate! A big thank you to our guide, Icy—everything was absolutely fantastic!

Yuly was a great guide. We got on the bus efficiently, and during the bus ride to the Great Wall she explained the various tickets she could help us buy (cable car, chair lift, boat on lake, lunch). I decided to get all four, which was a good value. Her explanations in English were very clear and very interesting. The itinerary is efficient and a great way to see both attractions. These were my two favorite places in Beijing, I recommend going to both.
