Great guide! Plenty of time to do everything. Spectacular scenery. Take your time at high altitude. You may feel strange if you live near sea level. Take sugary snacks. It helps!! We did feel the hour-long wait on the glass “step into the void” was too long for the few seconds we would have to take pictures. It was plenty scenic enough already!!
We also enjoyed the train ride to the ice cave. Sad that climate change is shrinking the glaciers SO fast. ★

Was supposed to go to Glacier 3000 but last minute cancellation brought me to the Chamonix tour. Road the lift to the top of the ski mountain, had a beer and donut at the top! Then lunch in town before visiting the glacier via the cable car. The glacier was closed and could see from a distance. Really cool experience as VA looks nothing like this!★

Lovely place with a lot of people in the summer, amazing lake with a lot of cafe’s around the lake.
Really nice for a bike ride, approx 50km around the lake and you can stop for a bath in the lake on several places so bring your bathing clothes.
A walk in the old town in the evening is really amazing, but be prepared that’s it’s a lot of people.★

We did not have the use of a guide and we’re purely given a map of Chamonix and told when and where to pick up the coach for the return. Free time in Chamonix was fabulous. We explored on our own and the trip allowed us to do what we wanted in the time before the return. The trip was quite expensive for the convenience of being dropped and picked up on resort. We could have done just the same travelling by train.★

Mountain views are out of this world and feels so surreal! Pleasant coach ride to and from Chamonix - easy to locate the stop for the pickup, it is directly in front of the shop where you collect your tickets for the day. We were provided a map for the day to help find our bearings once we were been dropped off. Would recommend the mountain train and once you step off, you are within the mountains and the view is breath taking. The village itself is cute and has plenty of shops, restaurants and bar - lots of choice to help you pass the day. We went picked up at 10.30 in Geneva, the coach trip is around 1.5 hours and you are picked up at 18.30, returning to Geneva between 19.30 to 19.45 but the time goes by quicker than you imagine!
