Reviews: From Manchester: Lake District Bus Tour & Windermere Cruise
Guest User2026-02-26
We joined this tour last weekend and it was easily a 5-star experience from start to finish. Our guide, Darren, was absolutely amazing—his knowledge of the area is incredible, and he kept us entertained with fascinating history and great tips on local delicacies to try along the way. The itinerary is perfectly paced; we started in Bowness-on-Windermere for a stunning lake cruise, then explored the charming villages of Hawkshead and Grasmere. We also got to see the iconic Bridge House and passed through the beautiful Grizedale Forest. It’s the perfect way to see the highlights of the Lake District without the stress of driving those narrow lanes yourself. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Manchester; we will definitely be booking another tour soon!

Everything was truly beautiful. Starting from the locations, then the driving, and finally the convenience of the transportation. I would perhaps add a few more stops in Snowdonia, but overall, it's a tour I'd do again in a heartbeat. :)

Great trip highlighting Northern Wales and Chester. Was perfect for my time strappped schedule. Loved the small tour group and the ability to roam freely at the stops. Driver was knowledgeable and kept us engaged in stories and history during the drive and provided ideas and highlights at each stop to give us some ideas.

Although the trip has been several days, but still remember the tour guide on the way to the wonderful explanation. Although we don't understand the specific content, the explanation of the cowboy-dressed tour guide and the good music he matched during the explanation process, so that we can also feel the music picture of the story sometimes cheerful, sometimes gentle and sometimes broad. Awesome! Because he knows that our English is not good, so we always take special care of us when we park on the way, which makes us feel very warm. Thank you! The only regret is that Trip.com here, until the meeting time is approaching, there is no phone call for our tour guide, tell us which tour bus to go on, let us find it ourselves. It is also recommended that Trip.com When providing this kind of English tour group later, you should be able to provide a bilingual travel notice in Chinese and English. This way, we can also find it ourselves when we look for the bus at the meeting point.

The English-speaking tour group required a basic understanding of English. The domestic travel agency was their secondary provider, but they didn't notify us the night before. I called them and was told that foreigners don't usually join WeChat groups, so I had to find the boarding location on my own. Overall, the service provided by the domestic travel agency wasn't very good, and they needed to improve their service awareness. Fortunately, the guides and drivers at the British-owned company, Rabbs, were very helpful, and everything went smoothly.

The whole explanation, a minibus with a total of 8 seats that day, the seating on the car was comfortable and spacious. The last visit to Darcy Manor was left for 3 hours, enough time to visit the entire manor.
