Reviews: Son Tra Peninsula, Marble Mountain and Hoi An Ancient Town Group tour: Depart from Da Nang
Guest User2026-02-07
This half-day tour was booked on short notice; I booked it as soon as I landed in Da Nang that morning, and we departed promptly at 1:30 PM. Although it was only half a day, we visited quite a few places. First, we went to Son Tra Peninsula, where the sea view from the mountain was quite nice; taking a taxi would have cost a lot. Then we went to Marble Mountains, which are mainly caves and not very high. The English-speaking guide had a heavy Southeast Asian accent, but it was still understandable, and he was very enthusiastic, leading us through the entire tour. Next, we went to Hoi An. It felt quite late when we arrived, so after dinner, we only had a little over an hour left to explore, just enough for taking photos. However, the fellow travelers we met along the way were all very interesting; we helped each other, chatted, and took photos, making it a fun and memorable trip.

Here's a photo of the shop where you can pick up your ticket. It's less than 10 meters from the actual scene depicted on the back of the 20,000 Vietnamese Dong banknote; you can't drive in by car. The ancient town has a great atmosphere. Let's Go Travel and Boat Lantern Tour—this is the English address I got from the taxi fare shown to me based on the Vietnamese address provided by the shop owner.

It's only about 200 yuan per person. Why would you need a tractor? The trip was excellent.
Reviews: Early & Morning My Son Sanctuary, Traditional Food with Boat Trip

I visited My Son on February 23rd for my birthday, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate. I was craving something mysterious and memorable, and this trip delivered beyond my expectations. The site itself is incredible—thousands of years of history packed into one atmospheric valley. You can really feel the powerful energy of the place. However, what truly made the tour outstanding was our guide, an elderly local man. I’m so sorry his name has slipped my mind, but I’m sure all the locals know and respect him. He shared stories that went far beyond the typical historical facts. He was a survivor of the Vietnamese war, long years in prison, and the hardships of poverty and hunger. Listening to him speak was a deeply moving experience that connected the ancient ruins to the living history of Vietnam. To see him now, enjoying life as a grandfather to more than 10 grandkids (9 of them are girls! What a rich grandpa!), was truly beautiful. Thankd a lot!

Great tour of the My Son ruins. The lunch was very good and our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. The boat ride was also nice. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone planning to visit the ruins.
